Our history
Our roots go back to 1967, when we started cathodic corrosion protection for underground pipelines in Koblenz. As early as 1972, we developed the BRANDES® system, the NiCr sensor technology that is still the standard for the precise detection of leaks in local and district heating networks. This innovation laid the foundation for our continuous further development and international expansion. Our NiCr sensor technology now monitors more than 100,000 kilometers of pipe network in over 30 countries.
In the 1980s, we launched the first automatically locating NiCr system on the market. This was followed in 1989 by the BS 1® system, which enabled digital system control and measurement data acquisition over long distances. In 1999, we expanded our technologies with Echoguard® to locate leaks in "Nordic systems". Since 2022, we have continued this tradition of innovation under new management with modern IoT and LoRaWAN solutions.
In recent years, we have made the transition from the tried-and-tested BS 1® system to the new BS 2® system. While the BS 1® system served as the leading solution for digital monitoring and measurement data acquisition in pipe networks for decades, it was time to respond to the new requirements of modern infrastructure. The BS 2® system offers extended connection options, state-of-the-art technologies and more efficient system integration. As a result, we continue to guarantee reliable monitoring and early detection of leaks, adapted to the latest technical standards.
