EDGE East Side Tower, Berlin

Water protection and safety

The EDGE East Side Tower in Berlin-Friedrichshain is one of the tallest office buildings in Germany, standing at around 142 meters high with 37 floors. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the building combines state-of-the-art architecture, energy efficiency, and digital building control. The project was realized by ZÜBLIN as the general contractor, while the building automation was implemented by HOSCH

Project objective

Early detection and localization of water leaks across multiple office floors to prevent operational downtime and structural damage – while meeting the highest standards of design and integration into the building technology.

Solution: FluidGuard® system from Brandes

As part of this project, Brandes' FluidGuard® technology was implemented for permanent moisture and leak monitoring. The system detects even the smallest amounts of moisture or water leakage and reacts immediately:

  • Sensors across multiple floors for precise detection and localization of water ingress
  • Real-time alerts and automatic we
