Mobile handheld measuring devices
Nordic system (copper)
Various mobile measuring devices are available for the manual inspection of district heating pipes, which record the condition of the pipes and can classify different types of faults in the event of a fault. Two special devices are used in the Nordic system: the BS-MH4 for standard inspection of the condition of the measuring loop and the BS-Echoguard Mobile, which enables precise fault localization using the transit time measurement method.
Mobile measuring device BS-MH4
For manual system checks during construction and system operation
The versatile functions of the BS-MH4 offer comprehensive possibilities in the measurement and transmission of system data - simply and conveniently. The BS-MH4 offers post-insulation companies, network operators and every measurement technician all the advantages of a special inspection system for all types of measurement loops and fire sensor cables.
The BS-MH4 can be used individually for different measuring systems: It measures on NiCr sensor cables in the Nordic system, on the BRANDES NiCr system and on the HDW system.
Each measurement cycle includes testing the loop continuity, measuring the loop length for BRANDES sensor technology (NiCr), measuring the MH level (insulation resistance) with testing for metallic contact between the sensor loop and pipe, measuring the contact resistance at the pipe contact and checking the supply voltage, as well as measuring the external or element voltage.
... with the BS-Connect app
The measurement logs can be temporarily stored in the device and edited immediately or later via the BRANDES app and forwarded directly by email. Alternatively, readout via USB connection is possible.
- All measurement logs can be transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth interface, e.g. to a smartphone with the Brandes Connect app, and forwarded by email including additional text information.
- Measurement logs can also be read out directly via the USB port.
- A wide range of supply options ensure availability for daily use.
- The recording of geographical positions, linking with current measurement data and further processing with the Brandes route editor opens up new possibilities for system documentation.
- Loop, continuity and point measurements for loop reconnaissance and moisture testing during line repairs
BS-1320-02 Echoguard® Mobile measuring system
The BS-1320-02 Echoguard® Mobile Measuring System is a mobile measuring system that has been specially developed for fault location in monitoring systems, particularly in plastic jacket pipes and sensor cables. It is used to detect and localize leaks, line breaks and short circuits in thermally insulated composite systems, which are often used in so-called Nordic systems and HDW systems.
Functionality
The system works according to the pulse reflectometry principle, in which high-frequency measuring pulses are fed into the monitoring circuits. These pulses pass through the line and generate reflections at points where the line impedance deviates, e.g. in the event of a fault. These reflections are then stored and visualized as reflectograms, enabling precise fault location. The insulation resistance is also measured, which is particularly useful for assessing moisture and leaks in the pipe insulation.
The EchoLoc® program, which provides all the functions of a professional transit time measuring device, is used for data acquisition and analysis.
Functions
- Manual recording, saving and adjustment of measurement curves
- Automatic recording and saving of measurement curves at freely definable intervals
- Save and compare up to 7 measurement curves simultaneously
- Setting markers (labels) for documentation purposes
- Integrated DMS with the option to create and control projects in a structured manner
- Display of difference curves
- Smoothing of measurement curves
- Display of measurement curves as a movie
- Export of measurement curves and protocols for detailed analyses
- Extended options for special features in the hierarchical system
