Stationary device technology
Nordic system (copper)
An essential component in the construction of new heating networks or the expansion of existing routes is the associated monitoring technology. At the heart of the monitoring system in the pipe technology area is the integration of copper sensors (Nordic system) in the PUR foam of the plastic casing pipes. Continuous monitoring of the network sections is a top priority for operators in order to detect leaks and damage at an early stage. This enables warranty claims to be asserted in good time, investments to be optimally protected and the service life of the entire system to be significantly extended.
Stationary monitoring device BS-23
For permanent and automatic system checks during construction and system operation
The BS-23 is the first model in the BS-2 series and is a stationary monitoring device that is fully compatible with all types in the BS-1 series. It enables automatic monitoring and detection of moisture, leaks and other damage in insulated and double-walled pipes. Thanks to its innovative modular design, the device can be flexibly adapted to different applications. The BS-2 series also supports various communication interfaces such as LoRaWAN, LTE and others to ensure modern and reliable data transmission.
Main functions
- Display of insulation values in MH levels as well as detailed measured values for early condition assessment
- Checking the measuring loop
- Comprehensive fault classification (loop interruption, insulation fault, etc.)
- Automatic pinpointing of the fault
- Individually adjustable signaling thresholds for insulation measurement
- Configurable sensors
Key properties
- State-of-the-art BYOD operation via integrated web browser via iPad, notebook, cell phone
- Storage of the complete process and measurement history
- Modular design (can be individually equipped with up to 8 different modules)
- Innovative display module with integrated gesture control
- Loop modules for monitoring Brandes (NiCr) and Nordic system (also suitable for mixed networks)
- Additional sensor modules (temperature, low point, pressure, etc.)
- Compatible with all common communication interfaces (LoRaWAN, mobile radio, Brandes bus, network, etc.)
Battery-powered monitoring technology (BS-141x/147x)
The LoRaWAN and LTE solution BS-Small is a compact and innovative device for monitoring pipe sections with a Nordic (copper) or HDW system. Thanks to an integrated LoRa or LTE modem, it enables continuous insulation and loop monitoring of supply and return lines (VL/RL) up to 1000 meters in length. If limit values are exceeded, an automatic alarm is sent to a central visualization in the cloud or to the in-house LoRaWAN dashboard. The device works either with a long-life lithium battery or via an external power supply unit and regularly transmits status information for trend detection. The compact design allows it to be used in demanding stand-alone environments without a power supply and where space is at a premium. Two contact inputs enable the use of various sensors, such as low point and level indicators.
- Monitoring of insulation and loop monitoring for forward and return flow
- Monitoring system: Nordic (copper), hierarchical (HDW)
- Loop length: Up to 2000 meters
- Automatic alarm when limit values are exceeded
- Data transmission via LTE and LoRaWAN
- Internal for more than 5 years of operation
- Alternative: External 230V / 50Hz power supply unit
- 2 inputs for point sensors (e.g. BS-TP4 low point sensor)
Stationary transit time measuring device with automatic fault location (BS-1310)
The BS-1310 Echoguard measuring unit is an innovative system for decentralized leakage monitoring and automatic fault location in insulated or double-walled pipe systems with a Nordic system (EMS). Using the precise impulse reflection measuring method, the device detects changes in impedance and reliably locates damage. The recorded measurement data is processed, analyzed and transmitted to a central data acquisition computer. With the ability to measure additional parameters such as temperature and pressure, the system offers a comprehensive monitoring solution.
Important functions and features:
- Leakage monitoring in real time: Permanent monitoring for moisture and humidity.
- Automatic fault location: Precise localization of damage with impedance changes ≥10 %.
- Sophisticated measurement technology: Use of the pulse reflection measurement method on copper sensors and sensor cables.
- Extended parameter acquisition: possibility to measure temperatures and pressures.
- Data communication: Transmission via RS 232 or FSK (BRANDES bus) for central data processing.
- Robust power supply: Mains operation with 230 V, 50 Hz and max. 12 VA power consumption.
- Durable and reliable:IP 54 protection class for use in demanding environments.
- High measuring accuracy: Time resolution of 5 ns (0.6 m) for precise fault analysis.
- Versatile application possibilities: Supports up to 4 sensor circuits, each 2500 m long.
